I had a rough situation in a previous foster home with a dog I did not vibe with, so for now, I’m looking for a home where I can be the only dog while I continue building confidence.<br/><br/>BUT — plot twist — my foster says my social skills have gotten way better. I’m no longer defensive, I don’t treat every correction like a WWE challenge, and I do great with her dogs and out in public. Still, because of the damage I caused in my previous home, if I ever live with another dog again, my human needs to be:<br/><br/>A trainer or someone who actually understands dog body language and how to manage a dog with a history of fights<br/><br/>Basically, not someone who thinks “dogs will figure it out.” I need a grownup.<br/><br/>Cats & Kids<br/>Cats: I’m gentle and curious.<br/><br/>Kids: I can meet them, but I cannot live with them. I get nervous and lack confidence sometimes, and I need a calm, predictable home.<br/><br/>My Home Habits<br/>I’m housetrained, leashtrained, and I behave beautifully when left out of the crate — because I hate being crated and I’m trustworthy without it. I’m spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and ready to bring my lovable chaos into your life.<br/><br/>My Lifestyle Requirements<br/>I’m a barker, so apartment living is a no from me. I need a home where I can express my opinions without getting noise complaints.<br/><br/>I’m currently in Hampton Roads, VA, but can be transported to other states for the right home. Please note, a transfer fee may apply if volunteer transport cannot be found.
