Meet Justine

Meet Justine! She is about 7 mo old, 30 pounds, and she looks like she has some Lab in her mix. Justine is quite shy at first and would do best in a quieter home with and setting with patient adopters that have dog experience, a fenced in yard, and another resident dog, as she loves to play and would benefit from another dog for confidence. She could also go to a home that has a confident/dog savvy cat and/or kids 10+. Justine has been living as an outdoor only foster in AL and is not house trained or used to walking on leash. So while she is safe, cared for and vetted, it is best to assume she needs help adapting to indoor life.

Justine's ideal adopters will be home for most of the day (beyond the COVID quarantine period), have another dog and enjoy being active, with a fenced in yard but also lots of walks to provide her with daily, positive new experiences with people and other dogs, as well as life skills through training. Adopters will need to teach their puppy house-training and crate-training. Enrolling in a puppy training class with a certified, positive reinforcement dog trainer is required. Adopters are encouraged to commit to training beyond the initial required class.

Her foster says, "Justine is very shy when she first meets you, although once she trusts you, she is very sweet and loving and really enjoys belly rubs. She loves playing with other dogs and would do best in a home where she will have a friend. If Justine was a person, she would wear pastels and be a soft spoken Southern lady who would not want to offend or hurt anyone. She will be your soulmate once you gain her trust."

She is available for direct adoption with an approved adopter in North Dartmouth, MA on February 11th or 12th. Please fill out an application at
