Jupi (and Venus)'s Story
Meet Jupi (8yrs., male, white) and Venus (10yrs., female, black) — two bonded Standard Poodles who’ve had more than a few guardian angels looking out for them.

After their owner went through a difficult divorce, she bounced from friend to friend trying to keep her beloved dogs safe. With each move, it became clearer that she might never find a home where they could live with her again. When the last friend’s husband became ill, she was left with only two heartbreaking options: the shelter… or rescue placement.

Thanks to a compassionate volunteer from another rescue reaching out — and one open spot on our end — we knew we had to step in for these two. They’ve been roommates their whole lives, and we couldn’t bear to separate them.

Jupi and Venus are calm, gentle, friendly, and (aside from grooming!) wonderfully low-maintenance.

To adopt one of our animals, the first step is filling out an adoption application at www.tapsusa.org, https://tapsusa.org/why-adopt/application/

Please make sure you get a confirmation that your application has been submitted.

If you are a match for one of our pets, we will reach out to you to schedule a meet and greet. All meet and greets are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

The Animal Protectorates
c/o Friendsville Animal Center
706 Kiser Station Road
Friendsville, TN 37737

All animals are spayed/neutered, current on age appropriate vaccinations and microchipped before they go to new homes because that's the responsible way to keep them all safe.

We only adopt to local homes in the immediate vicinity because we utilize our volunteer force to process home visits. Photos of your home, letters of reference are not acceptable which is why we only adopt locally. Only in very rare circumstances do we adopt out of area. Examples of this would be finding the perfect home for a senior animal or one that has other special needs that we have not been able to place locally for an extended period of time.

Thank you for wanting to adopt.
