Juno (Bunny)'s Story

Hi, my name is Juno, and I'm a 76-pound Labrador Retriever mix with a big heart and an even bigger smile!

I'm a total lover at heart and adore any kind of attention you're willing to give me, especially if it involves butt scratches-those are my absolute favorite. I have a playful side too and really enjoy carrying toys around in my mouth like little treasures.

When I'm outside, I love putting my nose to work, sniffing and exploring everything around me. Deep down, I just want to be someone's happy, loyal companion. That being said, I'm also a very anxious and skittish girl, and the shelter environment has me feeling pretty overwhelmed.

I tend to whine, pace, and stay on edge, so when meeting me it's really important to give me time and space to come to you on my own terms. With confidence boosting, socialization, and gentle guidance in a calm home, I know I'll blossom into the loving, playful pup I truly am. It may take a little time for me to fully open up, but once I do, I'll give you all the love, loyalty, and joy you could ask for.

My adoption fee of $225+tax covers the cost of my care and stay here at the humane society.

All Pennington County residents must also pay an additional $8 licensing fee at time of adoption.

Happy Adopting!

The adoption process may take up to one hour to complete but we’ll keep it as simple and streamlined as possible. Here are the steps when you’re considering adopting a pet: - Visit our website to see available animals or see them on-site during regular hours, seven days a week. - When you find a dog, cat or small animal you would like to spend more time with, simply call the Humane Society of the Black Hills at (605) 394-4170 for an appointment. - Occasionally, our team is able to accommodate walk-ins, but as we cannot guarantee them, it is best to call for an appointment. -During your scheduled appointment, an adoption advisor will review the animal's history with you and bring the animal to meet you for an initial visit. - A second appointment may be made for you for a variety of reasons (Ex. You have a dog at home you'd like to bring in to meet the pet next). -Once you have met a pet that you think is your perfect match and you have been approved to adopt, your adoption advisor will take you through the adoption process, and you can take your new family member home!
