Juniper Jolene "Juni"'s Story

Meet Juniper Jolene!
Juniper Jolene is a scruffy white terrier mix weighing in at about 18 pounds and under two years old. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and ready to start her next chapter with a forever family.
Juniper is a very puppylike girl with lots of energy and a playful spirit. She absolutely loves stuffy toys, bones, and chew toys, though fair warning, she is a champion toy destroyer. Her favorite games are chase, keep-away, and tug of war, and she is always up for fun with other dogs.
When Juniper first came from the shelter, she was very frightened and unsure of her new surroundings. She and two other dogs were abandoned in a crate near railroad tracks, so it is no surprise she did not have the best start in life. With patience and gentle care, she began to trust her foster family, and in just a month she has blossomed into a happy, loving girl who is learning what safety and affection feel like. She is still a little shy with new people, but once she warms up, she becomes incredibly affectionate, cuddly, and devoted. In true “velcro dog” fashion, she loves being close to her person and will happily follow you from room to room.
Because of her shy nature and sensitive start in life, Juniper would do best in a home without small children. A calm, patient household will help her continue to build confidence and thrive. She is good with other dogs her size when introduced slowly and would do best with a passive male dog who enjoys playful companionship. Cats are not recommended for Juniper as she does like to chase.
Juniper is very treat-motivated and eager to learn. She is crate trained and sleeps quietly in her crate all night. She figured out the doggy door right away. She is still working on potty training but does use piddle pads in the house. She is working on leash training and continues to improve with practice. She has already been to the groomer and will do well with a patient one.
If you are looking for a playful, affectionate little dog with a big personality and lots of love to give, Juniper Jolene might be your perfect match.

****PLEASE READ CAREFULLY ****QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF BEFORE ADOPTING ANY PET: Adoption should NEVER be an impulsive decision, it must be thought out carefully. Adopting a pet is a 15 to 20+ year commitment. Can we afford to care properly for our new family member? If we're renting do they allow pets here? Is there a pet deposit? Can we afford the pet deposit? What if we get sick, what if our pet becomes ill and has to see a veterinarian? Pets requires routine check-ups, annual vaccines, quality food, many necessities and toys, can we afford this? These are all questions a responsible pet owner must ask themselves. If you can make this type of commitment, please take a moment to email us for an application: friendsofthetas@gmail.com
