Junie's Story

MEET JUNIE BEA (AKA JUNE BUG)!

Looking for a fun-loving, four-legged shadow who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and happily snuggle up in your lap at the end of the day? Meet Junie Bea!

Junie is an adorable 2-year-old, 16-pound black Miniature Poodle with a BIG personality and an even BIGGER heart!

Junie's story began when she was found wandering the streets of Cleveland, Ohio. Animal control tried everything to convince her to come along, including treats and sweet baby talk, but Junie wasn't buying it! Then a big, burly officer sat down, and wouldn't you know it? Junie walked right over to him! Apparently, this little lady knows exactly what she likes!

Life in the shelter was stressful for Junie, but thankfully, she's now enjoying life in a loving foster home where her sweet, silly personality has really blossomed.

SO WHAT MAKES JUNIE SO SPECIAL?
For starters, Junie is an absolute LOVE BUG! She adores her people and will happily crawl right into your lap for some snuggles. She tends to prefer men, but she has plenty of love to share with everyone. She's also wonderful with her foster family's 11-year-old granddaughter!

PLAYTIME IS SERIOUS BUSINESS!
Junie LOVES toys, especially balls, and considers herself a professional fetch champion. If you're willing to throw a ball 1,000 times a day, Junie is willing to retrieve it 1,001 times! She also enjoys chew toys, long walks, exploring the great outdoors, and CAR RIDES!
Junie gets along with other dogs, although her play style can be a little enthusiastic and rambunctious. She's a young, energetic girl who would thrive with an active family that enjoys spending time outdoors.
SQUIRRELS, BEWARE!
Junie has appointed herself the official neighborhood wildlife patrol officer. Squirrels and other woodland creatures are NOT welcome on her deck, and she will make sure everyone knows it! She's also quite the talker and isn't shy about announcing every passing person, animal, or suspicious-looking leaf.
Because Junie is a vocal girl, apartment or condo living would not be a good fit for her.

JUNIE'S PERFECT FOREVER HOME
As wonderful as Junie is, there are a few important things her future family needs to know.

Junie is an escape artist and a RUNNER! She has managed to get loose twice, and once she's off, she doesn't stop! In fact, she thinks being chased is a fabulous game. For her safety, a securely fenced yard is an absolute MUST, along with a family committed to keeping a close eye on doors and gates.
Junie walks well on a leash, although she can pull when something exciting catches her attention (we're looking at you, squirrels!).

She's mostly house-trained and sleeps nicely in her crate at night. She can experience some anxiety, particularly in unfamiliar situations like veterinary visits, so a patient, understanding family will help her continue building confidence.
And one more little confession: If Junie gets bored and you leave your favorite shoes or hats lying around, she may decide they look like excellent chew toys! Keeping her entertained and providing appropriate toys will help keep everyone's belongings safe.

THE BOTTOM LINE?
Junie Bea is a sweet, affectionate, playful little girl who doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She has so much love to give and is just waiting for the right family to share her adventures.

Her dream home includes an active family, older respectful children, a securely fenced yard, plenty of toys, lots of exercise, and most importantly, humans who love to cuddle!

If you're looking for a devoted companion who will make you smile every single day, Junie Bea just might be your girl!

JUNIE BEA AT A GLANCE:
• Breed: Miniature Poodle
• Age: 2 years
• Weight: 16 pounds
• Color: Black
• Spayed: Yes
• House-trained: Mostly
• Crate-trained: Yes, sleeps in her crate at night
• Children: Older, respectful children
• Dogs: Yes, with energetic play
• Cats: Unknown
• Fenced Yard: REQUIRED
• Apartment/Condo Living: Not recommended

Junie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

Fostered in: Terre Haute, Indiana
Adoption Fee: $400

READY TO MAKE JUNIE BEA PART OF YOUR FAMILY?
Submit your adoption application at: www.sophiasgracefoundation.org
