Welcome Junie! Junie is a 1 year old coonhound x beagle mix, and weighs about 35 pounds.

Junie is housebroken! She sleeps through the night, and hasn’t had any accidents at home. She keeps her crate clean when Foster Mom and Dad are gone, and doesn’t make a fuss once inside the crate! She still needs a little coaxing to go into the crate (a treat is all it takes), but is working with Foster Parents to learn the “kennel” command.

Just like the Junie B. Jones books, Junie is great with kids! She has been around kids as young as 1 years old all the way up to 12 years old, and was very polite and gentle with them. Junie also does well with other dogs! She lives with two larger dogs and ACR adoptable Bertha, and loves hanging out with them! Her and Bertha are best friends, and love playing together non-stop. We think that Junie would be a good dog to take to the dog park, although she has not yet gone there. Junie is also good with people in general, although she can be a little shy at first. She quickly gets over this, and soon you two will be best friends!

Josie absolutely loves to explore. She loves exploring in the backyard, and sniffs out all the different scents out there. We think that she’d love to go on hikes with her future family, or just walk some local trails so that she can explore the world with her nose! As far as energy goes, she needs some long walks throughout the day or a nice play partner to get her spurts of energy out. She has spurts of energy throughout the day, but besides those moments Junie likes to just relax and take it easy.

Overall, Junie is the perfect combination of relaxed and playful! She is down to explore nature with you, or relax around the house soaking up some attention.

To ensure our dogs are placed in a safe environment, we require a home visit for all adoptions. Because of this, we typically only adopt to homes within 30 minutes of Athens, GA. If you are further away than that and are interested in one of our pups, please still fill out an application and we can discuss your options.
