June's Story

🐾Meet June 🐾

June is a 1 year old Pitbull/Heeler mix. She is ready to find her furever family!

June is up to date on all vaccines, deworming, prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed soon. She is available for pre-adoption in the meantime! She is heartworm positive, however her treatment has already begun and will be provided by WHS until she tests negative. June came to us with her 6 puppies and has been staying in foster care. Now that her pups are old enough and ready to be adopted, so is she! It's time for her to retire from motherhood and be loved and spoiled by a family of her own. While in foster, we learned that June is mostly house trained (just can't be left in crate more that 6-8 hrs yet without a potty break), is good with all kids (though she does jump and can be mouthy when playing so keep that in mind for kids under 5), loves all people, did well with the small male dogs in the home and previously lived with female dogs as well, is working on leash training, and rides well in a car! She knows sit, crate/bed, and is learning to wait for her food bowl.

June is a young, active dog who would love a home where she can get lots of activity, can run and play, and get lots of love from her people! Without getting enough energy (mental and physical) she will take things and chew them. She's still learning what she can and can't chew! But she is well on her way to learning home life She will make a great companion for someone. ❤️

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application on our website. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. We are open Wed-Thu 12-7 and Fri-Sun 12-4 if you'd like to come visit!

Warrick Humane Society's Adoption Policy
The Warrick Humane Society is a no-kill organization. Once an animal is rescued by WHS, it is saved for life. We will not release an animal to another organization that has a policy of euthanasia. In addition, we will only place animals with qualified prospective owners. We do not adopt out dogs or cats that will be kept outside. We only want loving indoor homes for our pets. We do thorough checks on all of our potential adopters before sending them to their fur-ever home. We also require that if you adopt a pet from us and are no longer able to keep it that it be returned to us, so that we can find it a new home.
