Jubal

Jubal is about 8 years old, 25 pounds, and apparently didn't receive the memo that he's supposed to be a senior. He is BUSY. He has toys to squeak, people to meet, dogs to befriend, and places to run around for no particular reason.

Before coming to Pug Nation, Jubal was found as a stray. The person who found him said they thought he was hit by a car due to the wounds on his back, and he was eventually brought to Downey Animal Shelter. As soon as we were alerted to him we rushed over to pick him up and get him the care he needed.

Considering what this dog has been through, Jubal's outlook on life is honestly ridiculous. He is happy, playful, affectionate, and completely obsessed with people. He also does great with other dogs, so his social calendar is already more active than most of ours.

His greatest love, aside from every human he has ever met, is his squeaky toy shark. We do not know what the shark has done to earn this level of devotion, but Jubal has made his choice and we respect it.

Jubal still has some visible reminders of his time on the streets, including scattered hair loss, healing wounds and pressure sores, some scarring, and a slightly stiff gait. The good news is that he does not need surgery and isn't in any pain, and is already well on his way to healing. None of this seems to concern Jubal, who remains committed to having an excellent time!

His ideal adopter will have experience with senior dogs or be willing to learn what he may need as he gets older. Basically, we are looking for someone who will let him be his active, goofy self now and help him age comfortably when the time comes. Jubal has already survived the hard part. Now he just needs someone to give him the ridiculously happy life he clearly intends to have! Could it be you? Please inquire today!
