Joy's Story

Joy came from ACCT Philly Deathrow in Nov 2024, she was found stray on the streets! When she came into our care she had a horrible battle with pneumonia! We got her healthy and she was adopted! A week later we were contacted by her owners who stated Joy was having neurological episodes and they refused to seek medical care! We immediately got Joy back and begin medical care! Joy would have "episodes" where she would lose the use of her hind legs! We did bloodwork, X-rays, numerous tests all of which came back normal!

She has occasional episodes, She is currently being treated for Focal Seizures. She takes levetiracetam twice daily and it seems to be maintaining things.

We would love to find Joy her forever home!! This girl is as sweet as can be and deserves a family to love her!! She is around 4-5 years old!! House trained! Spayed! Up to date on vaccines & microchipped!!

When joy originally came to us she had mild food guarding but has done really well with that!! We do recommand a home with older children.

Joy loves everyone she meets, she is always a happy go lucky girl. Joy is great with other dogs & cats.
She is a snuggle bug and loves attention!!

Interested in Meeting Joy? Complete our adoption application and we will contact you!

Our adoption policies are designed to ensure safe, responsible, and lasting placements for every animal. Potential adopters must complete an adoption application that is reviewed by our team. We evaluate lifestyle, housing stability, veterinary history (when applicable), and overall fit for the specific animal. Landlord approval is required for renters, and we verify that existing pets are up to date on core vaccinations and sterilization unless medically exempt. We prioritize best-match placements over first-come, first-served. Meet-and-greets are required for dogs and recommended for all household members and resident dogs. Some animals may require fenced yards, experienced handlers, or specific home environments based on behavior or medical needs. All adopted pets are spayed/neutered (or adopted under a signed spay/neuter agreement for age-appropriate juveniles), vaccinated, and microchipped prior to finalization. Adopters sign a contract agreeing to proper care, veterinary treatmen
