Meet Jovi, a one-year-old guy with a big personality and even bigger energy! Jovi loves toys, tug, and showing off his tricks—he knows sit, down, and shake with both paws. He can be a total sweetheart with his people, but he’s also still learning how to keep his excitement under control. Jovi can get mouthy, jumpy, and overwhelmed when he’s overexcited, so he’s looking for an experienced adopter and a home without young kids. He’ll need someone who can help him work on his leash manners, reactivity, and impulse control. Jovi can be nervous around other dogs and may come on a little too strong, so any dog introductions will need to be slow and thoughtful. He also needs some extra care around toys and other special items. Jovi has struggled with being left alone and has caused some household mischief, so apartment living isn’t a good fit for him. He’s looking for a patient, active home ready to help him become the best version of himself. Jovi is neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and microchipped. Capital Area Humane Society's Adoption Policy

The purpose of our adoption criteria is to ensure a consistent, fair process and to provide every potential adopter with an equal opportunity to welcome a new pet into their home. All animals are adopted to individuals who agree to follow the guidelines outlined in the adoption contract. Adopters must be at least 18 years of age and are required to complete an adoption questionnaire, as well as provide valid identification and proof of current residence. Pets are placed in homes where they will be cared for primarily as indoor companions, and adopters must commit to providing lifelong care, including proper food, water, shelter, and regular exercise. Animals may be adopted as gifts in accordance with our gift adoption policy. Additionally, to ensure the safety and well-being of our animals, we do not proceed with adoptions to individuals who appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
