Journey's Story

Meet Journey!

This is Journey's second time with us. She arrived originally in August of 2023. She was underweight and it was clear that she had been through a lot. She waited almost 4 months to get adopted the first time, into what we believed would be her final home. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

She was apparently abandoned by her adopter in October of 2025. Adopter's former roommates have been taking care of her to the best of their ability, waiting for her owner to come back for her, but he never did. They are now also moving, so Journey's journey has led her back to us.

Here are the surrender notes provided by someone who knows adopter:
- Journey was free roaming when family is home and away.
- She had access to a fenced yard and tie-out
- Lived with Adult Men, Adult Women, and a 6-year-old kid
(It's noted that Journey did not do well with the kid because the kid jumped on her a lot.)
- Lived with a cat and was neutral in temperament.
- Not certain how she does with other dogs. (Kennel staff, however, believe she would do best without other dogs).
- Housebroken.
- Knows "sit" and "shake"
- Journey LOVES rope toys and is scared of loud noises.

--------------------------------------------------
Adoption Hours: 11am-4pm every day
No appointments required

Disclaimer: Please only use our website (https://www.hshobart.org/adopt/adoptable-animals) to apply for pets.
