Meet Journey! Journey is approximately 3 years old and is thought to be an Australian Cattle Dog-type mix. Journey was surrendered simply because her owner had too much on their plate and wanted to make sure Journey had a better suited environment. <br/><br/>Journey was a little bit bashful when she first arrived, but that wore off quickly and she warmed up nicely to all of the humans here! She's affectionate, loves belly rubs, and is ready to get up and join you on just about any adventure you can think of! <br/><br/>Dogs like Journey are not ideal for someone who wants a lazy, couch potato dog. At least not yet. Maybe when she's older, but for now, she is READY for a life of adventure! She would make an excellent companion for walking, jogging, hiking, camping, and maybe even paddleboarding or kayaking! She's a nice size at 39 lbs, so easy to load up and go. She's got a beautiful energy and enthusiastic outlook on life. She knows some basic commands, but we know she'd love to learn more! She's treat motivated and loves to focus on you to see what you need from her. She's actually bilingual and also knows commands in Spanish! <br/><br/>Journey lived with small children in her home and did beautifully with them. She did not live with other pets previously, so her new family should expect to be patient if she needs to learn how to navigate sharing her space with another pet. We think she'll also do fine as an only pet if that's where she ends up. <br/><br/>Journey is potty trained, and although she did submissive piddle now and then, most dogs grow out of that and it tends to go away, especially after confidence building. She doesn't love Thunderstorms or Fireworks, but most dogs don't!
