Josie's Story

Meet Josie — our longest stay and our most overlooked dog.

Josie has been waiting for her person for over a year now. At approximately 4 years old and 35 lbs, this pittie mix is loving, loyal, playful and the perfect combination of adventure buddy + couch potato. Josie loves walks, hikes, the beach, fetch, Benebones, frozen Kongs and, most of all, being close to her people. One of her favorite things is sitting in your lap outside while she watches over the yard or stares at the night's sky (she loves watching the bats).

About Josie:
• Housebroken & crate trained
• Knows “sit” and “crate” and is working on additional commands (such as place & come - come is by far the most difficult without a high value treat)
• Great walking buddy
• Playful, active & affectionate
• Would love a human who will continue her training
• Must be the only pet in the home

Josie can get excited when greeting people and is still working on keeping all four paws on the floor. Project Freedom Ride's Adoption Policy
Steps for potential adopters: 1) apply through our adoption inquiry link. 2) rescue reviews the applications, if the application looks fitting then .. 3) schedule a virtual interview / home check (video via Facebook, Facetime, Zoom, etc) 4) rescue does reference checks (this can come before or after the virtual interview) 5) if rescue approves family ... family will be asked to think about it and get back to the rescue within 24 hours with their answer. We do not like rush decisions which is why we do that. After the 24 hours we will start to review other applicants. 6) once everything has a green light with adoption, rescue will send adoption contract. 7) adopter would complete and sign and pay the adoption fee at that time to finalize and secure spot on next transport.
