Josie Blue's Story

Josie is whip-smart, curious, and focused--a true cattle dog through and through. But she is also very affectionate and loves to snuggle up with you during her chill time. Josie is medium energy, enjoys her daily hikes with the pack and lives for retrieving the ball or stick, especially if it involves WATER! Josie is athletic, food motivated, and eager to please so she would excel in doggie sports such as agility, dock diving, or whatever adventures you are up for! She already knows basic behavioral skills including sit, down, wait, come, and look as well as several tricks such as shake, roll over, and turn around. She is house trained, uses the doggie door, walks well on the leash, and loves to ride in her foster dads truck. Josie is also respectful of cats and horses. Josie does well in the crate while her foster dad is away, but she prefers chilling on his bed, which she has staked out as her own!

Josie gets along well with other dogs and would love playmates, though her snobby older foster siblings prefer to ignore her. Josie has solid recall skills. After a day full of adventures, Josie is content to relax on the sofa next to you or enjoy some independent down time.

Josie hasn't been around children in foster care, but we believe she might try to herd toddlers or young children and would be better suited in a home with older children. This gorgeous gal is approximately 5 years old and weighs 36 pounds of solid muscle. Josie was found as a stray so we don't know much about her previous history. Josie is spayed, microchipped, and current on all vaccinations and preventatives.

Josie's chosen human will be rewarded with a lifetime of adventure and devoted companionship!

Thanks for considering a dog from Texas Cattle Dog Rescue! We place heelers all over the state of Texas.

If you're interested in one of our dogs, please first complete our adoption application. You can download it at www.texascattledogrescue.com/adopt.html.

Our adoption fees: puppies under one year old $350; adults 1-7 years old $300; seniors 8+ years old $150; seniors for seniors 8+ years old, adopters 60+ $100.
