Josie's Story

<p style="margin: 0in 0in 9.0pt 0in;"><span style="font-size: 15.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;">Josie is a sweet, energetic 1-year-old Weimaraner with tons of personality and a playful spirit. She is a smart girl who loves the water, car rides, and spending time with both people and other dogs.</span></p><br/><br/><p style="font-variant-caps: normal; font-width: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variant-emoji: normal; font-feature-settings: normal; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-variation-settings: normal; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-color: #000000; margin: 0in 0in 9.0pt 0in;"><span style="font-kerning: none;"><span style="font-size: 15.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;">Josie is continuing to learn what structure and boundaries mean. In her foster home, she enjoys chasing and playing with her foster dog siblings and is learning how to settle into a routine. Once she gets comfortable and calms down, Josie loves nothing more than cuddling with her people.</span></span></p><br/><br/><p style="font-variant-caps: normal; font-width: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variant-emoji: normal; font-feature-settings: normal; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-variation-settings: normal; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-color: #000000; margin: 0in 0in 9.0pt 0in;"><span style="font-kerning: none;"><span style="font-size: 15.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;">She enjoys walks and is making great progress with her leash skills and training. Like many young Weimaraners, Josie has plenty of energy and loves to jump and play, so she would do best with a family who is patient, active, and committed to continuing her training. Because of her exuberance, children over the age of 10 would be the best fit.</span></span></p><br/><br/><p style="font-variant-caps: normal; font-width: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variant-emoji: normal; font-feature-settings: normal; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-variation-settings: normal; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-color: #000000; margin: 0in 0in 9.0pt 0in;"><span style="font-kerning: none;"><span style="font-size: 15.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;">Josie has never been around cats, so we believe she would be happiest in a cat-free home.</span></span></p><br/><br/><p style="font-variant-caps: normal; font-width: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-kerning: auto; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variant-emoji: normal; font-feature-settings: normal; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-variation-settings: normal; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-color: #000000; margin: 0in 0in 9.0pt 0in;"><span style="font-kerning: none;"><span style="font-size: 15.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;">Josie is looking for a family who will give her the structure, patience, exercise, attention, and continued training she needs to thrive. Great Lakes Weimaraner Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
Adoption Application Request  Interested in adopting? GLWR is committed to giving rescue dogs the best chance at a wonderful life.  To that end, we ask you to know these things: 1.  The application process is not instantaneous.  We are all volunteers and we move things along as quickly as possible.  We need to get to know you through the application process; just like we get to know the dogs through our intake process.  It is in the best interest of all involved that this be done correctly. 2.  We do not hold dogs.  Approved adopters have their choice of appropriate dogs for their situation.  If you see a dog on the website that you would like, we cannot guarantee that that dog will still be available once your application is approved. 3.  Note to Families with children:   Weimaraners are large, energetic dogs who need a ton of daily exercise. They can be great family dogs, but will think nothing of knocking down toddlers to get to the door, or snatch cookies from their hands.
