Josef

Josef is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix and is estimated to be around three years old. He weighs seventy pounds. <br/><br/>Josef will need an adopter who can be patient with him, as he takes some time to trust new people. He was found on the side of a gravel road, where he had already spent about a week without food. He was very scared, and avoided anyone who attempted to approach him. It took many treats to get him into the vehicle to be transported to the shelter, and many more to get him comfortable with people again.<br/><br/>Now that Josef has been with us for a while, he has become comfortable with shelter life and is super friendly with people he knows. He loves to play fetch, splash around in the pools outside, and just hang out with the people he trusts. He is a very loyal dog with a lot of love to give.<br/><br/>Introductions with Josef may need to be slow, because although Josef has become much more comfortable with being around people, he is not a fan of having new people get too close to his face right off the bat. Once he trusts you though, he is the sweetest boy who just wants love and attention. <br/><br/>Josef is neutered, and will be microchipped and vaccinated prior to his adoption being finalized.
