Jorge Rogelio Vicente Cortez III's Story

Hello friends! My name is Jorge Rogelio Vicente Cortez the 3rd, but you can just call me Jorge. I’m a 50lb lab-hound mix born on July 4, 2021. I was rescued in Ensenada, MX, from a tough start in life, and thanks to The Cantu Foundation, I was brought to their sanctuary in Tijuana where I discovered my sweet and affectionate personality. I quickly earned the nickname “kiss toll operator” because I greet everyone with a wagging tail and plenty of kisses!

Since then, I’ve been lucky to spend time in foster homes that have helped me grow and thrive. With love and patience, I’ve gained confidence and learned that I’m safe and cared for. Now, I enjoy hanging out with my foster siblings, soaking up the sun, and going on fun pack walks — they’re the highlight of my day!

I’m fully potty trained, crate trained, neutered, and vaccinated. My crate is actually one of my favorite spots — it feels like my little sanctuary where I can relax.

I can be a little sensitive to sudden movements, but with gentle reassurance I open up quickly and show my snuggly, affectionate side. I do best in a calm and consistent environment, and I feel happiest when I know my people are close by. With a patient family, I’ll keep building my confidence and show just how loving and loyal I am.

I’d thrive in a home with a fenced yard, older children, and doggy siblings who are introduced slowly. I haven’t met a cat yet, so I’m not sure what I’d think of them.

Overall, I’m a happy, loving guy who’s ready to be someone’s loyal companion. I enjoy car rides, cuddles, and lazy days, and I’ll fill your home with kisses and joy.

My adoption fee is $300, which includes my vet care and neutering. If you’d like to meet me, please fill out an adoption application at thecantufoundation.org/adopt.html.
