Joni's Story

Meet Joni! ❤️ This 8-month-old pup is looking for an active family who wants a hiking buddy, running partner, swimming companion, and professional cuddler all rolled into one!

Joni absolutely loves adventure. She’s happiest hitting the trails, exploring new places, splashing around in the water, or racing around with her canine friends. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is already proving to be an amazing trail pup.

When the adventures are over, Joni is just as happy settling in for some serious cuddle time. She’s incredibly sweet and affectionate, though she can be shy when meeting new people and may need a little time to warm up. Once she knows you’re a friend, she’ll happily curl up close and soak up all the love.

Joni has also done well with cats. She may try to chase if they run because she thinks it’s a game, so a dog-savvy cat and slow, thoughtful introductions would be best.

She’s doing well with crate training, sleeps nicely through the night, and already knows "sit" and "paw." Joni is very food motivated and eager to learn, making training a lot of fun. She still has plenty of puppy energy and is working on remembering to keep all four paws on the ground when her excitement gets the best of her!

Fun DNA fact: Joni is 47.4% Siberian Husky, 17.2% American Pit Bull Terrier, 14.4% German Shepherd, and 21% Supermutt—a fun combination that helps explain her athletic, intelligent, and affectionate personality.

Joni is already spayed, up to date on her veterinary care, and ready for adoption! Her adoption donation is $400.

Interested in adopting Joni? Apply through Arctic Rescue at https://arcticrescue.org/adopt.

Please note: All Arctic Rescue dogs are marked “Needs Experienced Adopter.” Northern breeds often have higher exercise, training, and care needs. If you’re new to northern breeds, please research those needs before applying to make sure they’re a good fit for your home and lifestyle.

Arctic Rescue's Adoption Policy
HOW OUR ADOPTIONS WORK: 1) We require all adopters to fill out an online application at: https://www.arcticrescue.com/adopt 2) We are a Utah-based rescue. All potential adopters must come to Utah and meet the dogs. We do not transport dogs. 3) We want to make sure that your home is the perfect fit for one of our dogs and vice versa. We want all members of the family to be happy and well matched with each-other, so require families to do a phone interview, reference checks, meet dogs and pass a home-inspection before adoption.
