JONATHON's Story

Meet JONATHON

Jonathan came to us as a stray during Labor Day weekend this year. Despite our efforts to find Jonathan’s family no one ever came looking for him. After the stray hold Jonathan became a Lucky Dog.

Jonathan enjoys long city walks with staff and exploring the woods on hikes. Jonathan loves running freely in our large turf enclosure although has not mastered the art of fetch. During our time with Jonathan at the refuge we have come to believe that humans in his past were not very nice to him. Jonathan has some stranger danger. He is weary of some but not all new humans. When properly introduced to strangers Jonathan is a goofy loving guy. He nuzzles his head into your hand and accepts all the affection. Jonathan has learned how to walk politely in a heel on a prong collar and even sits at cross walks on command. Jonathan would thrive with someone who will continue to pursue his training. Like most huskies Jonathan has a high prey drive and would likely do best in a home with no small animals, cats or children.
We do not know Jonathan’s past but we continue to work with him daily so he can thrive in his next adventure.

Jonathan is a large husky mix and we estimate him to be between 1-3 years old. Jonathan is neutered and up to date on all vaccines.

*TO APPLY GO TO www.LuckyDogRefuge.com* (Petfinder messages will not be seen)

NOTE: We do not know the exact breeds of our dogs; any mention of breeds are best guesses and not guaranteed.
No dog is going to be perfectly housebroken when they go to a new home. They are accustomed to the routine of the shelter and will need to learn the new routine in their new environment. They will need your patience as they might have some accidents in the home while they get adjusted.

YOU CAN ALSO APPLY VIA THE DIRECT LINK BELOW:

https://www.luckydogrefuge.com/adoption-application.html

Thanks for considering rescue pup Jonathon!

Lucky Dog Refuge's Adoption Policy
Generally, puppies and adult dogs have an adoption fee of $600; senior dogs have an adoption fee of $350. However some dogs may have a higher adoption fees based on the extent of their training or other factors. We also may have "legacy dogs" whose higher fee help offset the medical costs of some of our emergency cases. Fees are set at the discretion of the rescue. The adoption fees covers only a portion of the expense the rescue spends on the medical care, housing, and transport of each rescue dog; the rest is covered through fundraising efforts. - The first step towards adoption is to complete an adoption application, which can be found online at our website www.LuckyDogRefuge.com, under the “Apply Now” tab or at https://forms.gle/LXKMKSnagxLSad668. - Do NOT use the Petfinder links or email to ask us about our adoptable dog listings - we do not always receive these messages and will not respond to them.
