Joliet's Story

Meet Joliet

Age: ~2 years
Spayed Female
Bristow, OK

Joliet is a sweet, affectionate German Shepherd mix who is looking for someone to call her own. While she can be a little shy when first meeting new people, she warms up quickly and becomes incredibly loving and devoted.

Once Joliet chooses her person, she wants to be wherever they are. She loves attention, pets, treats, and simply being part of everyday life. She forms strong bonds with her people and has the kind of loyal, velcro-dog personality that makes shepherd lovers fall in love.

Joliet is house trained, crate trained, and eager to please. She enjoys interaction and playtime and appears athletic, playful, and ready for adventure. She would likely love games of fetch and ball play once fully cleared from her heartworm recovery period.

She gets along well with other dogs when introduced properly and tends to warm up more quickly to male dogs, though she can take a little longer to build relationships with female dogs. She is also great with children and enjoys being around people.

Joliet is currently recovering from heartworm treatment and will need a follow-up heartworm test in November 2026. She has done wonderfully through treatment and otherwise enjoys a normal, happy life in foster care.

She does have one quirky habit - she eats extremely fast and should be fed separately from other dogs using a slow-feeder bowl. Other than that, she settles nicely into home life and enjoys being close to her family.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who will shower you with love and happily follow you from room to room, Joliet may be the perfect match.

Apply to adopt Joliet:
https://oklahomagsr.org/application
