Jolene

This beautiful 10 month-old, 45-pound shepherd mix was brought in as a stray on August 20. After only being there for a few weeks, despite being young, beautiful, healthy, and gentle she was put at risk for euthanasia. The sad part about these dogs in these shelters that are further outside of Los Angeles don’t get as much exposure online, and barely any pledges, which isn’t what determines who we rescue. Not to say that there aren’t hard working volunteers and networkers trying their best, there’s just so many dogs in these overcrowded shelters that there’s not enough time or manpower and there is no sign of it getting any better. Thankfully, Palmdale, who’s a part of the county shelter system, did ensure that she was spayed before leaving. A lot of these other shelters we pull dogs from are not even neutering or spaying them, so they aren’t even trying to help the crisis. Fortunately for Jolene, a lovely young woman saw her and wanted to to save her life by fostering. Now we can find her forever home! She is very sweet and gentle and great with other dogs. She’s very affectionate and smart as well. I know it’s hard to tell from the photos and videos, but she’s actually on the petite side.
