Jolene's Story

Jolene came to Saving Grace in September 2020. She was found wandering in Tahoka, TX - hairless and covered in scabs from mange. Jolene was anemic from malnutrition and severely sunburned. We really did not think she would make it! Thankfully she went straight to a wonderful foster home. Once we started treatment she slowly started to grow hair, wounds started to heal and she started gaining much needed weight.

Once Jolene started to become healthy again, we realized she was much younger than we originally assumed. She is an energetic puppy who needs lots of exercise and playtime! Jolene is very food motivated, loves all people and animals, she gets along great with small dogs and cats. She loves to play tug-of-war and sometimes plays with socks when no one is looking. She can be a little rough and jumpy so caution is used when she's around small children, but all she really wants is to play!

Jolene is very cuddly and will sleep right up next to you all night long, likely very thankful to have a bed of her own. She will forever have scars and patches of missing hair but you will never be able to tell what she went through because her personality shines bright through all the wounds!

Contact us if you are interested in meeting Jolene.

Saving Grace Rescue LBK's Adoption Policy
Our adoption fee is $225 (locally). This fee goes toward the cost of our vetting expenses for the dog, which includes the dog being spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We require an application and home visit for adoption of one of our dogs. We want to ensure our dogs are placed in forever homes and are not in a situation that would be unsafe for the dog or perpetuate the misconceptions surrounding Pit Bulls. We prefer that adopters be at least 21 years old, but we will consider applicants under 21 on a case by case basis - so please still fill out an application. Please keep in mind that we know our dogs well; behavior, temperament, special needs, etc. Any decisions we make are in trying to do what's best for our dogs and the homes that we adopt them into. **If you are adopting out of state and we are sending a dog for adoption through our partner, Project Freedom Ride, the adoption fee is $500 which covers all vetting requirements and transport costs.**
