Joker's Story
Meet Joker!

Joker is a 1.5 year old Rottweiler who has been in our care for close to 18 months. He was born with severe hip dysplasia, which caused painful bone-on-bone rubbing, decreased mobility, and significant muscle loss over time.

Joker has undergone a Femoral Head Osteotomy (FHO), a surgery that removes the head of the femur to reduce pain and allow the body to form a "false joint." He is currently in the early stages of rehabilitation with his wonderful foster and requires daily range-of-motion exercises, short controlled walks, and weekly water therapy to continue building strength.

Joker is making progress, but adopters should understand he may always have some mobility differences and could remain a special needs dog with possible future orthopedic concerns. At this time, he will remain with his foster unless a foster-to-adopt home is able to commit to his ongoing rehab routine.

If you're looking for a truly special pup to support and love, Joker may be the one for you!

We do require that all pets in applicants home are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccine series, and heartworm prevention.

Apply at www.pawsitivehope.org. To speed up the application process, please send vaccine records and verification of heartworm prevention of current pets to adoptions@pawsitivehope.org.
In addition, please call your veterinarian to give approval for us to contact them about current pets medical care.
