Hi, I’m Joie! I’m 6 months old and I came all the way from Texas. I met my two foster fur-siblings and we got along great! My favorite place to be though is by my mom’s side. I like to follow her everywhere. I will sit patiently for her to give me attention. I know she appreciates that cause she is always telling me what a good girl I am.
Good with dogs and kids: I love kids and other doggie friends, although I do like to jump up which I’m told is a no no. I love to wrestle with my foster fur-siblings. Sometimes my mom makes one of us go into our kennel cause we get too crazy and she says she needs a break. I’m ok with that cause I know I will get out soon and to be honest I can sometimes use a break also.
Activity level: medium energy. I can play hard and snuggle hard.
Things I do in my free time: Play with my foster fur-siblings, chew on a good squeaky toy and gaze into my foster mom’s eyes (she gives me whatever I want when I do). I really just want to be wherever my people are.
Things I know: I know how to sit and wait patiently for someone to give me attention. I respond really well to re-direction especially when I’m chewing on something that my family doesn’t want me to. However, if they don’t want me to chew on their shoes why do they leave them laying all over the place?!?!
Things I am learning: I am learning to leave my fur-siblings alone when they’re eating. They don’t appreciate it. I still need to learn some basic commands but I’m smart so I know I can learn if you’re willing to teach me.
Cats: Have not been around cats.
Additional info from foster: Joie has stolen my heart. She has such a sweet disposition. She really just wants love and will give you everything in return. She is a confident dog and hasn’t shown fear of much. She followed me around while I mowed the whole lawn and wasn’t scared a bit of all the loud noises. Joie sleeps through the night in her kennel although she would rather be in bed with her forever family. We are still working on potty training but that’s not surprising with all the transitions she has been through. She loves to play with her foster fur-siblings but doesn’t always know when to stop which is typical puppy behavior. She may need a little help in understanding boundaries. A patient resident dog could help her a lot. She would be fine as an only dog also. She really just wants to be with people as much as possible and as long as she gets to sit on the couch with you she is happy. I’m going to have a hard time letting her go. She will make some family very lucky.
