Johnny's Story

***Johnny is currently located at our rescue in Georgia but is also available for adoption in the New Jersey area. He is scheduled to be transported to New Jersey at the end of September if not adopted prior to then. An application for Johnny's adoption can be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to register or login). Questions about Johnny and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the rescue's number.***

Johnny and his sister, June, were found as strays in our area and surrendered to our rescue. Due to lack of space, they both went into a foster home that could only house them in an outdoor kennel, so both Johnny and June will need house training once in a new home.

Johnny is the more outgoing of the pair, but still displays a little timid behavior when meeting and dealing with new environments. Regardless, Johnny is very friendly, playful and eager to make new friends. He also does very well with other dogs, but we're not sure how he'll be in a home with cats. He does like to chase the chickens on the property of his foster home.

Johnny has now been neutered, received an update on all of his annual vaccinations and de-wormings and started on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. He also tested negative on her heartworms. His parasite test did reveal the presence of hookworms and he has already been treated for them. He has already been microchipped.
