John’s FAQs

What is Jet's Rehab Rescue, Inc.’s adoption process?

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: Congratulations on taking the first step in providing a home for a wonderful and deserving dog! In order to ensure a smooth adoption transition, we will follow the process outlined below: -We will review your adoption application thoroughly and if your situation is a good fit for the dog you are interested in, we will follow-up with any additional questions. -Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meeting between the dog you are interested in adopting and the people (and pets) that will be interacting most with him/her. -We will ask you to contact us the day after the meeting to confirm that everyone agrees the dog is a good fit for your home (we require a day to give everyone time to discuss all details). -If everyone agrees, we will check references and perform a vet check and home visit. This can typically take several days, or longer. -Once everything is confirmed, we will bring the dog to your home and either finalize the adoption or begin an adoption trial. If the dog turns out to not be the best fit after all, we will suggest other dogs who might be a better match! There are often multiple potential adopters going through this process for the same dog simultaneously. In this case, the situation that is the best fit for the dog will be chosen. Our adoption fees are used to cover a portion of the training and medical expenses your new dog has received while in our care. Your new family member will have received appropriate training, spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, deworming, flea and tick treatment, and he/she will be microchipped. WE TYPICALLY ADOPT TO PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE BUFFALO, ROCHESTER, AND SYRACUSE NEW YORK AREAS. SOME DOGS ARE DESIGNATED TO ONLY BE ADOPTED TO ONE OR TWO OF THESE AREAS AND CANNOT BE ADOPTED TO OTHER LOCATIONS. Thank you!
