Joey's Story

Joey is a big, goofy 80-pound American Bully with a huge personality. He is affectionate, energetic, and gets very excited, so he'll need an adopter who is comfortable with a strong, enthusiastic dog and can help him stay calm and focused.

Joey walks well on a leash and actually prefers to take his time and walk at a slower pace. He enjoys leisurely walks and stopping to take in all the smells along the way.

Joey is also a big chewer, so his new family will need to make sure he has appropriate, durable items to keep him busy and entertained.

Joey would do best in a home with grown children and no cats. While Joey does get along with some dogs, we would prefer him to be the only dog in the home. Any dog introductions would need to be done carefully to make sure everyone is a good match.

Joey needs someone who is patient, confident, and ready for a big, silly boy who has a whole lot of love to give. He may be a handful, but he is also a whole lot of dog to love.

Helen O. Krause Animal Foundation, Inc. Helen Krause Organization (HOKAFI)'s Adoption Policy
We are not a same day adoption facility because we believe in matching pets with the perfect homes and vice versa! We treat each adoption as a case by case basis as each animal we care for is unique in their own way. We like potential pet parents to apply in person after meeting their desired new friend. We do not have application fees but we do have adoption fees that are determined by a pet's age. We do home visits with dog adoptions to help your new friend settle in. Please feel free to call us to make an appointment or come to our open adoption hours to meet our furry friends in need of homes. Visit us Saturdays 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.
