Joelle's Story
Joelle has a secret! From the front she looks like a normal beautiful girl but when she trots by there is a surprise for the eyes. It’s her curly whirly tail. It’s unlike anything we normally see in the best way possible. Joelle is as fun as her tail. She masters the agility bridge and probably anything else we could throw her way. Joelle doesn’t need to run around though. She will happily sit close and give her paws until the treats are gone.

Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm.

All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers).

We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
