Joe's Story

Meet Joe!
Joe is a 5-year-old, 67 lb sweetheart who is truly a joy to spend time with. He has a warm, loving personality and makes fast friends with just about everyone he meets.

Joe is easy to handle and happy to get going-he may start out a bit strong on leash when leaving the kennel or heading to the car, but he settles quickly once the excitement wears off. He's enthusiastic about car rides and needs a little boost to hop into an SUV, then rides like a pro-standing to look out the windows at first before relaxing and laying down for the drive.

Joe enjoys exploring new places, especially when he can sniff and take his time soaking everything in. He isn't particularly interested in toys, but treats are definitely the way to his heart. He knows how to sit and usually takes treats gently, with just the occasional reminder needed.

Affection is Joe's love language. He is incredibly people-oriented and wants to be as close to you as possible, whether that means leaning in, climbing into your lap, or gently jumping up for attention. He's easily redirectable and eager to please. Joe also does wonderfully for baths and shows excellent manners in public settings.

With his affectionate nature, easygoing personality, and solid behavior skills, Joe would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving, loyal dog who truly enjoys being by your side.

As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.

To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
