Jodi's Story

2yrs old. 16lbs. Miniature Aussie. Friendly. Sweet boy! He was taken from a home who's owner had a declining medical issue. The following is what has been observed over the last couple of weeks: He is house trained, although he doesn’t like crates. He is very tolerant being handled by people, no issues being picked up, and does fine with baths, brushing, and getting his paws wiped....almost no resistance. He's very compliant. He likes being outside and may dart out the door when opened (so be careful!). If this happens, he most likely will stop in the yard and can be coaxed back inside (but still better safe than sorry!). His recall is so-so but he’s responsive to friendly/sweet talking.

He is shy around people at first, but warms up fairly quickly and follow you around. Not a biter. Loves attention. He prefers to sleep on the bed with you. In a crate he may bark for a bit before settling. Sometimes he will lay on the couch. He likes to play with toys. He lived with other dogs with a previous owner so we know he gets along with other friendly dogs. He’s active/playful and then rests, seems to have some separation anxiety, but overall seems like a normal and sweet boy. He gets excitable and has energy, especially after he’s been in a crate.

He doesn’t appear to have any training (he is house trained, though) The first night he marked inside but not after.

He has shown some dominance behavior recently (he peed on a couple’s 12yr old dog he met recently), and he snapped once at the caretakers' dog (which prefers to stay an only dog) when they had him near them while they (the people) were eating. He did spend a day with a friend of theirs and 4 other small dogs and she said they played and got along great, though!

We really want to find him a good home where he can get the love and attention he deserves!

Fee is $380 (incl. current shots, neuter, and microchipping)
