JoJo's Story

My family took on a neighbor's dog due to their home not being a good fit. JoJo is an unaltered Dogo Argentino (however he will be neutered soon), and he is 2+years old, born June 2, 2023. He was 8 months old when he came to live with us. He had no training, followed no commands, and would steal any food left at his level. He is now kennel trained and knows many commands, including “leave it”. He is an amazing dog with an abundance of energy. It truly breaks my heart to have to re-home him. My family and I are likely going to be forced to sell our home due to unexpected and devastating medical and financial hardship. We will have to move into an apartment and JoJo will not thrive without a back yard, time to run, and a home with active owners.

In our home we have other dogs, an older multi-poo, 2 micro bullies and a German Shepard we are keeping short term for a family member. We also have children, a 4 year old little girl, a 16 year old teen boy, my husband and myself. He is amazing with small children, teens, men and women, and other dogs of any size. He is not food, toy, or territorially aggressive. He however, is mouthy when playing with teens and adults, and we are working on no jumping. He is strong and loves to play rough. He is also a puller when walked on a leash. He is learning not to but it has proven to be a long process. A snout harness and lots of verbal support (and treats) help!
The adoption fee is negotiable--please don't let that stand in your way of learning more about this amazing and sweet dog. He is currently in Fairfield, CA but may soon be fostered at Lake Tahoe (after neuter). We are willing to transport.
