JoJo's Story
Miss JoJo is a beautiful, soft hearted German shepherd with a twist of some unknown breed that shows up in the white tipped curve of her tail. At 5 years old, JoJo has been there done that, including "been there" in situations and with people who were mean and unsafe. As with so many dogs who have been ill treated, this gorgeous girl lives in the present and the present is all good -consistent food, hugs, kisses (from her), and walks.... oh how she loves her walks! Finished with the sillies of teenagehood, JoJo radiates calmness and wisdom, and is looking for a home who is ready to embrace her zen.

Joey lives with multiple dogs in her foster home and gets along with all of them. Sometimes she can be seen play bowing with one and then racing around the yard, while at other times, she likes to keep to her herself and carve out some solitude. Cats are also included in 'family' for her and she pays no heed to them. In her previous life, JoJo lived with a dog as well as cats and she has continued to be solid and trustworthy with all the other creatures she shares her current home with. What JoJo does not green light is sharing her food with her housemates. For someone who has not been provided with regular meals, this is acceptable behaviour and she deserves no stress or onlookers when breakfast and dinner are served.

Joey LOVES her walks and when the leash comes out, she starts her happy dance. "Am I going with you??.... Can I come with you??..... Are we going into town for some breakfast sandwich??.... Please oh please take me with you!" And so her morning begins with a walk into town with two of her foster bros (fobros she calls them) and it's pretty spectacular to see this trifecta of fur glory heading down the street. When she's back, she eats her breaky on the back deck and then chooses to lounge in the yard in the hole she has dug, or on the bathroom floor. Joey does not get on the furniture but has been known to get up on the king sized bed if none of the fobros are parked there.

JoJo is happy to be included and to receive attention, but she is not needy or pushy. She radiates contentment. She has spent too much time in a crate in her previous life and does not need one or choose one. Her foster people leave her at home without a second thought about her counter surfing, chasing cats, or having a party. JoJo is an honest and trustworthy houseguest.

Joey would enjoy a home where she has her people, her food, her yard, and her walks. She would go for as many walks as her new people offer and for someone who had never been on a leash, she's actually pretty darn good at it. Joey is the perfect home protection system as she will bark and look scary in the yard when strangers drive up the driveway. GSDs are known for being protective of their people and homes and Joey considers this her way of paying back her foster peeps - you take care of me and I take care of you.

Joey is such a kind and easy dog to have around that her foster needed a reminder to prep this bio. Regardless of how wonderful it is to have JoJo, she is ready to be found by her people - kind people who are looking to envelope Joey in their safe and loving home for which she will be eternally grateful.
