Jo's Story

Johanna (Jo) is a 3-ish year old black King Charles Spaniel mix, about 15 pounds, who was found as a stray and pulled from a CT pound for a well-deserved second chance.
She is extremely affectionate, social, and very comfortable being handled for grooming and cuddles! Jo loves human attention and is happiest curled up in a lap or close to her person. She’s doing well with house training, walks beautifully on leash, and is calm and cooperative for grooming, bathing, and brushing.
Jo gets along well with other dogs and enjoys being included in group activities—especially with her foster friend Lily—but she doesn’t require constant playtime. She’s more interested in being part of the household and sharing quality time with her people.
Jo does have some separation anxiety and does not do well in a crate or kennel environment. She would thrive in a home where her people are around most of the time and where, when they do travel, she can go along or stay with a trusted in-home pet sitter or someone she already knows.
If you’re looking for a loving, gentle companion who values closeness, calm routines, and connection, Johanna may be the perfect fit for you.
