Jimmy's Story
Jimmy is the kind of dog that makes you question every other dog you’ve ever met.

Like… why aren’t they all this easy?

He ended up at the shelter as a stray in Lancaster, with a microchip registered to an address in Los Angeles, but no one came for him. We were able to pull him on a medical waiver, and he’ll officially be available once his hold is up on April 1.

Since getting out, he has been nothing short of… suspiciously perfect.

Jimmy is basically a living stuffed animal. Soft, sweet, and just quietly thrilled to be included in whatever you’re doing. He still has a little pep in his step, loves a walk, and then is immediately ready to be back on the couch like he’s been paying rent there for years.

He’s great with other dogs. Totally fine with cats. Loves people. No weird behavior. No drama. No “he just needs time to decompress.” He’s already decompressed. He’s good.

At the vet, we did bloodwork, fecal, and a urinalysis just to cover our bases, and everything came back exactly how we’d hope. He does have a very mild heart murmur, but it’s not something our vet is concerned about.

When we got him, his nails were so overgrown they were starting to curl inward, and his coat was a mess. He’s already had a cleanup (thank you to his foster), and he’ll be getting a proper groom soon so he can fully step into his new life.

The shelter labeled him as a Shih Tzu, but we’re fairly confident he’s more of a Havanese/Maltese mix. Either way, he’s a very good decision.

If you’re looking for a dog that just… works, Jimmy is your guy.

Real Good Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Los Angeles, CA.
Learn more at www.realgood.dog
