Jim’s FAQs

What is Midwest Animal Resq’s adoption process?

The Adoption Process We firmly believe that EVERYONE deserves the love of a pet, and strive to make our adoption process a positive one! When you visit our Adoption Center in Raytown, our amazing Matchmakers will go to work helping match you with your perfect pet! If you would like to meet a pet currently located in a foster home, please email foster@marqkc.org and the foster parent will then be in contact to set up a time to meet at the shelter. Midwest Animal ResQ provides medical treatment for all animals that come into our care. Some pets come to us injured or sick, and require an extraordinary amount of medical intervention. Variable adoption pricing allows us to continue to do more for those animals that need us the very most! Currently our average adoption fees do not begin to cover our average medical costs, not to mention the other costs associated with animal care, thus our fees are not negotiable. Thank you for understanding! To adopt any animal, a government issued ID is required. For dogs we do require a well fitting collar or harness and a leash, you are welcome to bring those with you, or we have them for sale at the shelter for $5-$15. For cats we require a secure carrier, if you don’t have one, we sell cardboard carriers for $10 at the shelter. You will also receive a copy of all current health records. We look forward to seeing you, and hopefully matching you with your perfect match! Not Sure What Pet Would Be Best? ?Fill out our adoption survey, and let our matchmakers set you up a “blind date” at our shelter. ?
