She loves other dogs—the more, the better! She is definitely a pack girl.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>After spending her first few months surviving in the wilderness, Jill has known foster homes and learned how to live comfortably in a house. People were once very scary for her, but she has made incredible progress. She is now approaching new people on her own! Approaching doesn't mean she's ready to be petted, though. Trust takes time. She is affectionate with her foster family, but that bond took many months to build.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Her Great Pyrenees side shines through in her loyalty, stubborn streak, and dedication to patrolling the yard. She isn't a nuisance barker, but she will announce a suspicious squirrel or a bird flying a little too close to her fence!<br/><br/> <br/><br/>When Jill is playful, she literally bounces. She loves her toys and enjoys downtime just as much as playtime. She's well-mannered at meals, and we have seen no aggressive behavior.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Jill's non-negotiables:<br/><br/> <br/><br/>- A decent-sized fenced-in yard with room to run and play.<br/><br/>- At least one playful, confident dog in the home. Size doesn't matter!<br/><br/>- A patient adopter who will let her build trust at her own pace.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>Leashes and harnesses are still a challenge, and getting one on her takes patience. Neighborhood walks aren't her thing, but she enjoys wooded hikes on a long lead once she's ready. She has also learned to enjoy car rides.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>We are very selective about Jill's future home because she deserves a family that understands her needs. If you're looking for a dog to provide you with immediate comfort or companionship, Jill isn't the right fit. Jill needs her own comfort dog—a confident canine buddy to help her feel secure.<br/><br/> <br/><br/>If you have the yard, the playful dog, and the patience to celebrate her progress without rushing her, please consider adopting Jill. Her next chapter needs to be about what's best for her.
