Jill's Story

Meet Jill! Jill is a 3-year-old, 29.4lbs female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Jill is a very happy and very loving lady who is ready to be your permanent shadow. Medically, Jill is considered obese but she is working hard on getting to a healthier weight. She just really likes to eat and that's not her fault. Jill will need an adopter who can measure her meals and incorporate daily exercise to she can be as healthy as possible. During her exam, it was found that she has a grade 3 of 4 luxating patella in her right knee and a grade 2 of 4 in her left. Loosing weight will be important to help take the unnecessary pressure off her joints. Jills CBC came back showing she has suspected macrothrombocytopenia; this is a congenital process in cavalier king Charles. This is most often found incidentally - Jill has shown no underlying issues or bleeding. This basically means we suspect she had a benign inherited condition from genetic mutation. Even though she seems to be just fine and has zero symptoms, we cannot rule out that she may need follow up care in the future.

The adoption fee is $200. This includes the spay, dental cleaning, microchip, heartworm test, wellness bloodwork, fecal flotation and all core vaccines.

If you are interested in adopting Jill, please e-mail adoptions@thelovepetproject.org with " Jill" in the subject. Please also tell us about yourself and your household.
