Jill's Story

Jill and Jack were found together in the High Desert and taken to Devore Shelter. Sadly, they weren't claimed, and we welcomed them as Frosted Faces on December 2nd. Jill and Jack are estimated to be 13 years old, weigh 60 lbs., and are very sweet and gentle.

Jill LOVES pets and will lean into ear scratches. She will also gently paw you for more attention until she is ready to nap. But she has such soft fur and such a sweet demeanor that you may want to continue to scratch her ears!

During their first week at FFF, Jack and Jill enjoyed two outings with volunteers: a hike at the Ramona Grasslands and a trip to meet Santa. No doubt they asked him for a home for the holidays! Volunteers only had wonderful things to report about this special pair:

In the car...
* They rode so nicely and shared the back seat. Jack calmly looked out his side window and had a bit of a snooze in that position!
* Jill was alert for most of the drive but still relaxed. She rested her head on the center console and enjoyed the journey.
* They have great mobility for older, larger dogs. They got in and out of a Jeep with little assistance.

At the hike...
* Jack and Jill walked nicely together alongside a family that included small children, big backpacks and strollers.
* They have good, calm energy that allowed them to complete the shorter Grasslands loop no problem!
* They were also happy to relax with their walking partners post-hike for pets and treats.
* They were non-reactive to other dogs on the hike and seem to enjoy meeting new people.

At the Santa Photo Event...
* Jack followed Jill's lead and some treats and made it through the store all the way to Santa with these incentives. Along the way, he was non-reactive in all of his encounters with dogs and people of all sizes -- and there were many unaware customers and loose children. Good boy, Jack!

Jill and Jack seem to love each other very much. and while it would be wonderful if they are adopted together, we know that's a big ask. To see how they do separately, Jill is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling. Check back soon for an update!

To meet Jill and Jack, please email:
placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
