Jiko's Story
Jiko was surrendered to rescue when his family’s children left for college, leaving him alone in the yard for most of the day while the parents worked.
At nearly two years old, Jiko is fully vaccinated and healthy. Indoors, he uses a dog door independently to go potty outside, shows zero food guarding, and keeps quiet. He saves his bark only for when strangers approach the front door, giving a single deep alert before settling back down. Out on walks, he is actively learning leash manners; while he still pulls occasionally, his quick focus makes training straightforward. Around other dogs, he naturally initiates games of chase and joins in high-energy play with an open smile.
He is a grounded, affectionate dog who engages warmly with everyone he meets without being demanding of attention.
An ideal home for Jiko is an active household where people have time for daily exercise, basic leash training, and consistent indoor inclusion.
He is a fun, social companion ready to settle into a structured daily routine with a new family.
