Jewel's Story

Meet Jewel! She is a 1-year-old beautiful medium-sized female dog who is around 40 lbs and ready to find a loving home to call her own. Jewel originally came to us from a shelter in New Mexico, was briefly adopted, and then returned when she wasn't the right fit for her previous home. She has been patiently waiting since May 27, 2026 for her second chance.

Jewel is a bright, fun, and affectionate girl who is a joy to those who know her. She loves snuggling, enjoys kiddie pools, and is always ready for playtime and activity. She is an intelligent, energetic dog who would thrive in a home that can provide both mental and physical stimulation-she's not a couch potato kind of dog.

Jewel can be a bit reserved when first meeting new people and situations, so she does best with a patient adopter who will give her time to settle in. Once she's comfortable, she's very loving and engaged. She has enjoyed playgroup at the shelter and may do well with another energetic, playful dog in the home. If there are cats in the home, a slow, structured introduction is recommended. She would do best in a home with older children or teens who can respect her space while she adjusts, and all household members will need to meet her prior to adoption.

Jewel is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. If you're interested in meeting Jewel or learning more, please reach out to an adoption counselor by phone at (517) 626-6060 or email at adoptions@adoptlansing.org.
