Jett's Story

Jett is a wonderful young mixed-breed dog, about a year old and weighing approximately 70 pounds. He is believed to be a Labrador Retriever and Shepherd mix, possibly with some Border Collie or Cattle Dog influence. Jett was sadly dumped at a lake with his sister, Bennie, but despite his rough start, he has grown into a confident, affectionate, and well-balanced dog.

Jett loves to be active and truly shines when he can run, hike, go on pack walks, or play with his foster dog buddies. Because he is still a young dog and does not always realize his size, he does best in playgroups with medium to large dogs. He is social, playful, and enjoys structured group activities.

He has a low prey drive and is naturally respectful around livestock, showing curiosity without fixation. Jett is obedient, responsive, and eager to learn, making him a great companion for an active household. At home, he enjoys lounging on the couch and relaxing with his people. He appreciates affection but is not overly needy, striking a nice balance between independence and companionship.

Jett is a well-rounded, easygoing dog with an adventurous side and a calm, affectionate nature. He would do well in a home that enjoys outdoor activities but also values a relaxed dog who can settle and enjoy downtime.

Jett is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or may travel to Pennsylvania and surrounding northern states for the right home. An approved application and a scheduled appointment are required to meet or adopt.

Adoption applications can be found here (copy and paste into your browser):
https://airtable.com/appklteyg5w2e0fmu/shrY8RxQc1KxQYCuv

Scout Street Smart Rescue adopts to residents of PA, NJ, MD, DE, NY, VA, WV, OH, MA, RI, VT, NH, CT, and ME, with occasional exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis.

We will also adopt to homes located within 200-250 miles from Amarillo, TX 79101, and may make exceptions on a case-by-case basis for longer distances or other states. We call two personal non-family references (ie. friends, neighbors or co-workers) that are to be listed on the application. The adoption process could range anywhere from a few hours, up to a week. We do NOT hold dogs/puppies.
