Jessie's Story

With Jessie, some lucky family will hit the companion pet jackpot! She is just the right mix of cuddle bug, couch potato and "Hey, let's go outside and play". At 6 years old she is certainly living her best life. She came to us from a West Virginia shelter where her emaciated, frail body had been thrown from a moving vehicle and picked up by animal control. You would think that would leave her scarred for life and mis trusting of humans, but it is quite the opposite. She has never met a person she hasn't loved and seems grateful that they love her back. She is the epitome of companion pet. Loves everyone, likes to ride in the car, has been known to enjoy a pup cup or two and is extremely gentle and kind. She likes to chase balls and is a whiz at finding ones that other pups may leave in the yard. It is almost as if she had search and rescue training as she very systematically sections the yard into grids as she begins her search...LOL She does prefer being the only dog and we feel she is overly interested in cats. She is eligible for our Paws for Senior program and is the absolute perfect candidate. She is very easy going, is housebroken and crate trained, knows some basic commands and learns rapidly and is extremely food motivated. She does want to jump initially when meeting new people, but is responding to a hand being placed outward with a firm "no". Her best quality is she loves to cuddle!! If you may be the perfect place for Jessie, please email iPAWinc2022@gmail.com for an application or to get additional information.
