Jersey's Story

This is Jersey. This eight year old girl came to us when her family experienced some pretty large life changes, and could no longer provide for her. Though they were crushed to part ways, they did so while entrusting us to make sure Jersey's next eight years were as filled with love as the first were. Jersey is what we call "a darn good dog." She just is. She is full of love, and she just wants a place to feel secure.

Her entire life has been turned upside down. She is understandably stressed. She doesn't know what's happening and she doesn't feel safe. The hardest part of cases like this is knowing we can't communicate with these dogs that everything is going to be okay. That we will find them a home they will never have to leave again. That they can trust us. Jersey doesn't understand that yet, but she will. Jersey needs a home that will allow her to have peace. That will offer quiet. While she is good with dogs and cats, she needs humans that will recognize and accept she's wary of sharing food and treats with other animals, and will feed her separately. This is something that should be very easy to manage. She'd prefer a home that is steady, not chaotic. She is overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of small children.

Jersey is going to make someone so happy. We are positive. Right now she's in boarding because we don't have a single available home for her. This is entirely overwhelming for Jersey, and she cries in her kennel all day. She needs a home. She has never known anything else.

**We are unable to respond to inquiries on Adopt-A-Pet.
If you are interested in adopting Jersey, please fill out the adoption application at phpdr.org/adopt and email it to dogs@peoplehelpingpaws.org

People Helping Paws Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
At the time of adoption, all of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and heartworm tested as appropriate for age, given flea/tick and heartworm preventative treatment and micro-chipped. You must be 18+ to adopt and a Missouri resident. Check your HOA or lease for pet permissions. We do not adopt out dogs that will be living outside on a chain, in a fenced yard or in an outdoor kennel--that's why our foster volunteers work hard to crate and potty train our dogs so they can live inside as a part of your family! **Please note: PHPDR reserves the right to do home visits and vet checks on all dogs adopted through our organization.
