Jerry

Jerry has been here since January - our current longest shelter dog. Please read & help us find him a home!<br/>He got to stay with a foster for a couple nights & we learned so much about him. Here are a few little snippets his foster reported through the weekend (& a couple adorable Jerry photos as well!)<br/><br/>"Jerry is doing great. Zero accidents in the house so far. We went for a little over a mile walk this morning and then a truck ride to Pine River to get more chicken food. Since we were going right by we decided Tractor Supply was a “must stop” and Jerry did perfect going in the store and picking out a couple toys (pink pig and little brown Kong Bear). Came home and I let him be a cordless dog (off leash) in the yard while I picked choke cherries. He behaved wonderfully. Stayed right near me the whole time except to step away to potty (still within sight). He’s been napping on the kitchen floor for the past couple hours now while I made the kids’ chokecherry syrup. He’s perfect! <br/><br/>Saturday I cleaned the house while Jerry was inside with me. He had no issues with the brooms, mops, vaccuum or any of that stuff. I then left him alone free range in the house for about an hour while I mowed the yard and he was perfect. No messes, didn't chew anything, didn't counter surf. I honestly don't even know where in the house he spent the hour since there's no evidence whatsoever that he was even in there alone. Being around an obnoxious dog isn't a Jerry thing, but he did great with our friend's older dog who doesn't get all up in his face and isn't high strung. Those two spent quite a bit of time together. Ate treats next to each other and wandered the yard together (in sight of us) with no issues at all. <br/><br/>Zero messes, zero chewing up things, no counter surfing or bad behaviors at all in the house and he was great with every person he met while with me both at our house and shop and also at Tractor Supply on our treat run. He rides nicely in a vehicle with no car sickness or anxiety. <br/><br/>He loves gentle attention and loves to be petted and snuggled in close. He has such a happy contented little snore when he's comfy and falls asleep with his big head in your lap. In those moments you can't help feeling the same calm, contented smile from inside your own heart."
