Jermaine

Jermaine is an amazing dog! He is such a fun, easygoing pup who loves playing with his foster siblings, and he gets along great with cats. Jermaine is a laid-back, and adores attention, snuggles, and affection. He is playful, full of energy, and walks beautifully on a leash. It's been such a pleasure to have him in our home and get to see him thrive! <br/><br/>Jermaine was found by a Soul Dog volunteer who saw him lying on the ground at a Speedway gas station in Many Farms, AZ. Upon closer inspection, it was clear that Jermaine had a leg injury and later it was discovered that he would need an FHO surgery. This is likely the result of previous trauma, though the actual cause remains unknown.<br/><br/>He arrived at his fosters home straight off transport, unfamiliar with close human relationships. We believe he lived as a stray on the Navajo Nation Reservation. At first, he didn't want to be touched. He would turn to face the wall, ignoring everyone around him. But with patience, love, and care, Jermaine has blossomed into an absolutely remarkable dog.<br/><br/>He underwent surgery in early March at CSU VTH in Fort Collins. The doctors are extremely happy with his recovery and he is expected to live a very normal life where he can run and play without limitations once he fully heals. He is a perfect size at only 39lbs., and is easy to pick-up if needed. He loves to be close to his humans, enjoys belly rubs and kisses.<br/><br/>He would likely do best in a home with at least one other confident dog. Having grown up as a stray, he has a strong pack instinct and dogs like him tend to feel safest and happiest when they have a canine companion.<br/><br/>He currently lives with his foster in Fort Collins. It has been incredibly rewarding to watch him grow into such a sweet, loving little guy, and it's especially touching to see that he now feels safe enough to be the dog he was always meant to be. His fosters are going to miss him deeply when he finally finds his forever home and knows someone special out there will be extremely lucky to be loved by him!
