Jeremy - 8-9 yo senior's Story
Meet Jeremy!

Sometimes the dogs who need us the most are the ones who give the most love in return.

Jeremy is an 8–9 year old (as of March 2026) sweet soul who was found as a stray, clearly struggling when he first arrived. After veterinary testing, we learned that Jeremy is in kidney failure. Despite everything he’s been through, this little boy’s heart is still wide open.

Jeremy doesn’t ask for much. His greatest happiness is being held, sitting quietly in your lap, or curling up next to you. Give him a soft blanket and a sunny spot, and he’s perfectly content just being near someone who cares.

As he’s started to feel a little better, his personality has begun to shine, and it’s impossible not to fall in love with him. Jeremy is one of the most gentle, loving dogs we’ve ever met — the kind who simply wants to be close and feel safe.

Jeremy is currently on special food, medication, and needs fluids administered twice a day to keep him comfortable. If you’re a nurse, have medical experience, or are comfortable learning, you could truly change this sweet boy’s life by opening your home to him.

We are searching for a foster, fospice, or adoptive home where Jeremy can spend his time somewhere warm, peaceful, and full of love — not in a shelter kennel.

He doesn’t need long walks or big adventures.
He just needs a lap, a blanket, and someone willing to love him for however long he has.

If you have room in your heart and home for a very special boy, Jeremy would love nothing more than to leave the shelter and curl up beside you.
Because Jeremy is a senior, he qualifies for our senior to senior program which allows free adoptions to approve adopters at least 60 years old.

If you are interested in adopting or meeting any of our animals available for adoption please FILL OUT AN ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE FIRST. Due to the volume of interest in our animals and the convenience we now offer of applying online for adoption, we may not be able to reply to messages sent through our Petfinder page.
Copy and paste this URL link to learn everything you need to know about the adoption process and to fill out the application.
https://www.grandstrandhumanesociety.com/adopt/
