Jenny's Story

When Jenny first came to us, she was skin and bones — heartworm positive, battling an upper respiratory infection, and fighting just to feel better. But even then, her gentle spirit and will to live shone through. Since then, Jenny has gained 18 healthy pounds, fully recovered from her heartworm treatment, and blossomed into a bright, loving, and joyful girl.

Jenny is the definition of resilience and gratitude. She’s a true nurturer who adores being close to her people — whether that means curling up beside you on the couch or resting her head in your lap after a long day. She’s affectionate, loyal, and has a calm, steady energy that fills her home with warmth.

She’s potty trained, house trained, and crate trained, though she no longer needs to be crated in her foster home. Jenny walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys car rides, and loves the company of other dogs. She’s gentle and respectful with cats, too.
At around 8 years old, Jenny has the perfect balance of playful and relaxed — she can romp with a puppy all afternoon or lounge contentedly watching the world go by. She’s spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. And for those curious about her background, Jenny’s DNA and age test results will be back within the month, giving us even more insight into this amazing girl’s story.

Jenny has overcome so much and is ready to share her endless love with a forever family who will treasure her as much as she treasures life. Could that be you? Apply to meet her at CRAPrescue.org/application.

Adoption process: After your phone screening, we can schedule a meet and greet / the start of your foster-to-adopt trial. All adoptions have a 2 week minimum foster-to-adopt trial to make sure that the pet is the right fit for your home, and vice versa. Jenny's adoption fee is $250, which would be due after the foster-to-adopt period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer to-your-door transportation and have so many happy families as references. We are very transparent about the process so feel free to ask any questions.

Code Red Animal Project Inc.'s Adoption Policy
All of our adoptions are foster-to-adopt, giving adopters the opportunity to have a trial period. We firmly believe that it is impossible to know if a pet will be a good fit for your home based on a brief encounter. A trial period allows you to see the pet in your home as they decompress and find comfort, and introduce them to different situations and settings that are important in your life. Prior to finalizing adoption, we ask that the pet be seen by your vet so that your trusted veterinary team can assess the animal's health, note vaccination records, and prescribe 6-12 months of heartworm prevention (for dogs).
