Jenna's Story
Jenna was abandoned as a puppy and has been waiting her entire life for her own home. She has grown up in foster care, loved and cared for, but it's not the same as her own home. Jenna loves her foster home, but she needs her own home. Jenna is generally polite, calm and reserved with moments of puppyish energy. She's such a good girl.

Here are some highlights of Jenna's personality:

*Great at outdoor dining.
*Cuddles in bed.
*House trained.
*Crate trained.
*Great in the car.
*Great at dog park and off leash beach.
*Loves to retrieve.
*Calm around horses.
*Great in public, but has a protective instinct if there's a threat. Nobody comes into your house uninvited.

Jenna is well behaved around then house and LOVES the dog park and the beach. As we found, she does great with other dogs outside of her home and enjoys playing with them, but prefers to be the only dog in the home. She did fine with the Dogwood pack with some management indoors, but we always felt that she would love to be an only dog who has playtime with other dogs. Jenna is a mixed breed of around 16 months old and a lean 55 pounds She loves toys and is very sensitive to humans. She settles beautifully indoors and entertains herself nicely with her toys and chews. Jenna lived with confident cats in her first foster home, but needs management and might be best as the only pet.

Jenna is a fabulous hiking and adventure buddy, crate trained (but loves to sleep in the bed with you if you offer), house trained and great in the car. She did great at the off leash beach and off leash lake (Water Bark) with literally 100 other dogs and endless people. She thrives with good leadership and direction from humans, but did well on frequent hikes and outings with less experienced volunteers.

Cuddle on the couch, watch tv, play at the park or go the barn, Jenna does it all. Jenna is super chill around horses. She often goes to the barn with foster mom and is calm and non-reactive. If you're looking for a great, active, playful dog and can provide the leadership and activity she needs to bring out her best, please apply for Jenna.

Applications at:

http://dogwoodanimalrescue.org/adoption-application-dogs/

You can follow us on social media at:

https://.www.instagram.com/dogwoodanimalrescue/
https://.www.facebook.com/.DogwoodAnimalRescue/
Â

Making a difference, one animal at a time.
