Jenga's Story

UPDATED 6/5/2026 Hi! My name is Jenga! I'm a 10-12 year old female beagle mix. I've had a tough life. I wasn't taken very good care of. I was very underweight & had skin issues when I came into Nittany Beagle Rescue. I'm working on becoming healthy again! (Check out my updated photos on my PetFinder page!) I'm starting to gain weight & my skin is starting to heal. But I still have a ways to go. I'm such a sweet girl! And I'm a happy girl! My tail wags all the time! I just want to be loved! I love to be brushed! There have been so many changes in my life recently! I was feeling very insecure & had a lot of anxiety when I came into the rescue. But I'm feeling much better now! I'm in a foster home with 2 very calm dogs along with my foster parents. My anxiety is really improving. I hardly bark at all! I stick to my foster parents like Velcro! I like to explore & will get into things. So you have to put things tight away with me in the house! :) I sleep in bed with my foster parents & their dogs at night. I'm starting to learn some commands, too! I'm learning "Let's go outside!", "Come here" & "Come" plus more! I'm very smart! I'm working on housetraining. I'm doing really good! I lived in a home in my prior life, but Nittany Beagle Rescue isn't sure how often I was taken outside. So I may need a little work with house training when I go to my forever home. I really really need a forever home where I will be loved & taken care of! Are you it?? I'm good with other dogs! I weigh about 21 lbs. I'm spayed & up-to-date on vaccines. I just need a home! Look how good I walk on a leash in my video! Kennel License #4068

Nittany Beagle Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog & Nittany Beagle Rescue! We are a foster-home based rescue. We hold showings on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at Lyons Kennels in Bellefonte, PA from 11am - 1pm. You can meet some of our dogs then! Please email or send a PM on our FB page if you want to know if a particular dog will be at the showing. If you are interested in a particular dog, or a type of dog, please submit an application to foster or adopt (it's the same application form). Once you have an approved application for a dog, we will connect you with the dog's foster parent. Typically the potential adopter & foster talk on the telephone first. Then if the dog seems like a good fit, we arrange a personal meet & greet.
